Assortment of Multicapillary Columns

Multicapillary columns (MCC) are glass rods of a regular hexagonal shape pierced by a great quantity of parallel capillaries whose inner surface is covered by a layer of a stationary liquid phase (SLP). There are short straight MCC (up to 250 mm long) and longer coiled MCC (1000 mm long). The straight MCC can be hermetically inserted in protective stainless steel tubes. Diameter of the coiled MCC is 118 mm. The coiled MCC are placed in special cassettes.

Stationary Phase Description

OV-1 – (100% - polydimethylsiloxane), Alltech Associates, non-polar.
SE-30 – (100% - polydimethylsiloxane), Supelco, non-polar.
OV-5 – (5% - diphenyl, 95% - dimethylpolysiloxane), Ohio Valley Specialty Chemical, non-polar.
SE-54 – (5% - diphenyl, 95% - dimethylpolysiloxane), Supelco, non-polar.
OV-17 – (50% - diphenyl, 50% - dimethylpolysiloxane), Ohio Valley Specialty Chemical, weak polar
OV-20 – (20% - diphenyl, 80% - dimethylpolysiloxane), Ohio Valley Specialty Chemical, weak polar.
OV-35 – (35% - diphenyl, 80% - dimethylpolysiloxane), Ohio Valley Specialty Chemical, weak polar.
OV-1301 – (6% - cyanopropylphenyl, 94% - dimethylpolysiloxane), Ohio Valley Specialty Chemical, medium polar (similar to OV-624)
OV-1701 - (14% - cyanopropylphenyl, 86% - dimethylpolysiloxane), Ohio Valley Specialty Chemical, medium polar.
SKTFT-50X – (25% - trifluoropropyl, 75% - polydimethylsiloxane), Chimreactiv, Russia, medium polar.

The straight MCC can be supplied with fittings sealed by means of a rubber O-ring for connecting to fused silica capillaries ID=0.32 mm (maximum temperature is 220 0C). The coiled MCC are sealed by graphite ferrules and supplied with fittings for connecting to either fused silica capillaries or tubes 1/16" Swagelok 10-32VHF.
